CUTE pics, Holly...we're going this weekend and you've got me all excited. Hope Ryan fits into his Christmas outfit after all these growth spurts! :?
We have blackout shades and they are a dream. We also took out Ryan's nightlight when these bizarro wakings started and that's seemed to help, too. Can't look around and not sleep when it's too dark to see!
Richelle, we buy our food at the grocery...whatever brand is on sale. Also, Ryan is doing pretty well with finger foods, but he's 6 weeks older than Sophie, so that's probably it. It hasn't been that long since he's gotten that pincher grasp going and it's a whole new world, now. I am trying to ignore the dropping thing...if he drops something once, I'll get it, but after that, I say, "I guess you didn't want your keys. Maybe you should have thought of that first." and then I smack him. No, I'm just kidding...but I did crack myself up writing that. I will give him something else or distract him...I don't want to get into a cycle of drop, pick up, drop, pick up. I'm sure I'll do it a lot as he grows up, but it seems to be working now.
Traci, you cahn do it! (Did any of you see that Adam Sandler movie where Rob Schneider says this in a Cajun accent? If not, ignore it!) I think you are right...not about you being weak (or however you put it), but about consistency. And, like Micky said, it is so hard when you are so freakin' tired you can barely stand by the crib, much less keep picking this chunker of a kid up and down.
If this helps, here you go: Ryan's sleep issues have gotten SOOO much better...but the stupid teeth I have been waiting months for are screwing it all up! Last 2 nights, he's been pretty good about going down (we're also keeping him up longer) and waking 2 times, just after the Tylenol should be wearing off (usually 4 1/2-5 hours). It takes a squirt of Orajel and a dose of Tyelenol and he's usually right back to sleep...or at least within 10 mins. I don't give him any meds. during the day, so we're not overdosing, although I don't want him to become dependent on that either. Always so much to worry about!
We had our home visitor this am, so he was up for 2.75 hrs. before am nap. It's usually 2.0-2.25, so we'll see how it goes...it's been over an hour though, so it must not have affected him too much. He also woke earlier, so he went down when he usually does. Maybe this by the clock business does work.
MUST go work on Christmas cards. (Since my home visitor was here this am, the house looks decent for a change.
) I have yours done and am going to the post office this afternoon. Not sure how long it will take to get to some of you from the middle of America. Buh-bye!
