Getting longer Naps
« on: November 28, 2005, 17:58:02 pm »
I have just starting doing the pu/pd method.  My 4 1/2 month old is only taking 45 min naps.  Should I be doing pu/pd till he goes to sleep, and if he doesn't(which he didn't)continue doing it till it is time to get up, and then tart my routine all over again????

we usually sit to get calm, and then i put him in his bed and pat his back for maybe 2 mins and hes asleep.  Today he has been sleeping only for one hour at a time waking up happy but wanting to go back to sleep within 45mins and it starts all over.

My little guy, now almost 16 weeks, has been doing a lot of one hour naps lately.  AFter a 45 minute nap, he'll often take the paci and go back to sleep, but not usually after the one hour.  Just like yours, mine will wake up all smiles but will want to go back to sleep too soon.

You are not alone!

Have you tried the pacifier to get yours to go back to sleep?  It's not the perfect way to go, but I've found it works for mine more often than not.
