Awake all night
« on: November 28, 2005, 23:14:16 pm »
I have been using pu/pd and 4 hr easy schedule since 10/18 with my dd.  She is a textbook baby with reflux and is on meds.

She is doing well with her naps but night time is a roller coaster.  She does relatively well the 1st half of the night - until the 11:00/11:30 feeding - we do not dream feed because if she is not ready to eat - you cannot pry her little mouth open for anything - so we wait until she wakes up.

Once it is about 1:30 am or so - she starts waking up every 1/2 hour to an hour.  At first - pu/pd and pat/shh was working - although she was still waking but we could get her back to sleep.  Now even with pat/shh and pu/pd - she will be okay until we lay her down in her bed and then she is fighting mad!!!  Once big problem is she gets her feet and head into the bed rails.  In the US it is not recommended to use a bumper pad.

In anycase, I cannot seem to stop this nightly waking - all night.  It has been going on for over 3 weeks.

Any advice would be helpful.

Hi there. How old is your LO? I am assuming older than 4 months just due to the fact that she is on the 4 hour EASY??
My DD went through a stage of exactly the same thing, I nearly went mad after a couple of weeks of waking every hour or so, plus taking up to 2 hours to get her back to sleep!!     I can totally relate to what you are going through!
I have no quick-fix solutions just wanted to let you know that I've been there and that "stage" has now seemed to pass, thank goodness!!
Hope it will pass for you soon as well.

She is 5 1/2 months old.

Thanks for the support!!

I also forgot to mention that she rubs her face to soothe herself but it sometimes actually irritates her!!
