snacks ?
« on: November 30, 2005, 10:39:07 am »
hi,

i wondered if any of you have any ideas what to give my son as a snack.

he currently has a milk intolerance, so no dairy, and has allergies in the family so not giving egg at all yet.

i give hime rice cakes, and occasionally a rusk (full of sugar) which i try to avoid as he is on soy milk and that is full of sugar already. also banana is a no go.

he has other fruit for desserts, so didn't want to overload on fruit.

i just don't want to give him junk, and my lack of imagination must be sooo boring for him!

any ideas wold be greatfully received

You can get sugar free rusks, try Boots.
I use bread sticks as a snack, I get a great packet from Sainsburys, they are Gluten free so in that section, not the baby food, but are great as they are really small. As they are gluten free they kind of dissolve in their mouth!! DD loves them.

he is 1, and has eight teeth, and teething with his back ones at the mo ! so is quite capable of eating most things.

i'll look out for those breadsticks, they sound good, and i'll try boots thanks. always forget to look in there.

How about trying with rice milk and cereal, or you could also give some bread and sugar free jam.

Good luck
