Crying out in nap time
« on: December 02, 2005, 17:41:20 pm »
Hello,

As I have listened to my baby Ella's cries I have come to understand they are mantra's cries as she goes back to sleep after doing it during her naps. The only thing that confuses me is that in the book the mantra cry is short, sometimes Ella cries out for 2-3 minutes and I am just on the verge of going in when it stops. Is this still considered a mantra cry or is she awake crying and then falls back asleep? I am really confused to the amount of time I should wait in order to go in. Sometimes it is really confusing as the cry intensifies and I am on the verge of going in, then it stops. Another thing, is Ella getting as good of a rest when she has naps with lots of these crying episodes? Should I let her rest longer than her designated nap time? She is 7.5 weeks and been on 3 h Easy since day 1 of life. Please help me understand :)

sorry, but what does the mantra cry indicate?  PJ does this in the second part of his nap usually once.  (after I have finally soothed him back to sleep - and he has been crying)

He cries out once......

Thanks

The mantra cry, as from the book, "an odd burst of cry which most babies do as they are settling down. I don't think it means anything just that the baby is relaxing and the vocalizing is how he/she does it without being awake. Maybe someone else can give us another definition. Hope this helps Meg12. :)
