Do I need to express???
« on: December 05, 2005, 11:06:55 am »
I have a nearly 7 week old baby who was born 7 weeks prematurely - so I became an expressing queen.....Now that he is on full feeds do I still need to express. I am so scared my supply will drop off.
If he only feeds on one side should I express the other?
I just don't want to lose my supply as this happened with my daughter.
Thanks for your advice

You could try weaning off your pump gradually. Just miss a pumping every few days until you are letting him take your full supply. Do you need to save the milk for anything? Then you could keep up a pumping.

It is so nice to see a premie and a breastfeeder in one. We are expecting twins and they keep warning me about early delivery and I hope to nurse again.
