ive been sick and ds sleep ruined!!!
« on: December 12, 2005, 11:47:12 am »
Hello...

I was in hospital  for 3 nights and dh took time off work to look after 16mth old ds..dh was putting ds to sleep for about 5 nights straight....dh assured me he was doing everything the same as normal.

Ds would always wake 6.30 nap 11.30 to 2.00 and in bed asleep by 7.30

Ever since this happened ds nightime sleep has gone really bad,,,,i now put him in bed at 7.30 and he plays till 8.30 then gets really upset and it takes about 1/2 hr of tummy rubbing to get him to sleep..so we have gone from 7.30 to a 9.00 bedtime, and we have 1-2 wakings in the 1st 2hrs

i'm puzzled.....surely this cant be because i was in hospital? i honestly dont think its teeth,as he always goes off food with teeth which hasnt happened.

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions?

Hello,

Sorry to hear about you being in the hospital!  I hope you are feeling better.
I think your ds's sleep issues right now are just in reaction to you being away.  Just be consistent and offer lots of reassurance, with extra one on one time during the day, and he will get back on track.

Good luck!
