HELP!!! Should I just try CIO???
« on: December 13, 2005, 18:03:17 pm »
LONG sorry!!!!

Okay Ia m at the end of my rope.  My 6 month old has been on EASy since birth.  He was doing really well and was sleeping 10 hours straight  starting at 3.5 months!!  I should note he has never been a good napper - king of the 45min nap.

We are now waking several times a night - not really sure what prompted this - maybe teething or development.  Me going back to work... But impossible to fix.

We tried breaking from the PAci - no help.  PUPD- does not work b/c when you walk in the room  and place hand on him - he settles - so no need for pupd.    I have tried waiting longer before I go in- but before he gets to the full wail!!!  But he can lay in his room and fuss for an hour before he starts to all out cry.

I think I am the prop - he wants to hold my hand.  I tried an transitional object or two - no real success.   Once you go in - roll him on his side and leave a hand on his back for 20 seconds he is fine.    He just does not do it himself...

I looked at the day - as he has never been a good napper can not really tell if this is the issue.   Routines and wind downs are the same - no change there...

I started BW becasue I do not want to do CIO - but what am i left with if I am the problem...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Help and advice needed!

My first thought when looking at this post is the 6 month GROWTH SPURT.  Either cluster feed in the evening, feed more during the day or give a night feed.  He may very well be hungry.

Good luck!
