Do I get rid of the mobile???
« on: December 16, 2005, 14:09:36 pm »
Hello

I just went into implement wake to sleep on my dd's nap this morning.  I found that she was already awake, staring at her mobile and kicking her legs.  I have found this to happen quite often the last few days.  I will go into to wake her from her nap and she is already up, no crying, just smiling at her mobile.

Should I remove this from her crib???  I have no idea how long she has slept as she doesn't cry.

Any ideas are much appreciated.

Hi,
I have never left Jake's mobile on his cot when he went for naps, or he would think it's play time.
He always needed minimum stimulation, I know if he woke and saw his mobile he'd go crazy!
It's not a huge deal to take it off is it? Just try it and see what happens.

I too would recommend taking the mobile off.  For such a young lo it can be a very big distraction.  let us know how it goes!

Thanks everyone. I took the mobile off and now she just stares up at the ceiling, talking to it:)  Cute, but frustrating.

I am so frustrated with her naps.  One day she naps great, the next day horribly.  I am to the point where I have surrendered to the idea that she may grow out of this as she is just 9 weeks old.  Not sure what else to do at this point without pulling my hair out.

Sorry...venting

Hi I am a 10 week old and she is not napping either I can totally relate and my heart goes out to you.  It is very frustrating when you have no time for yourself.  Hang in there.

Stacy

Thanks for the tips.  Yes, she is swaddled with the "Miracle Blanket".  By the way, the miracle blanket is WELL WORTH the money.  I just purchased another one the other day.  That is the only swaddle she cannot get out of.  You will lovee it.

She is able to kick her feet as the miracle blanket has an opening at the end where you can insert their feet or not.  I always put her feet in, but she can get them out.  Her feet aren't the problem, for me it is her hands that jerk and wake her.

I am going to try and be more persistent at the wake to sleep method and see what happens............I will keep you all posted.  Thank god she is sleeping at night :D
