How much food is your 7 month, 20 pounder eating??
« on: December 22, 2005, 01:47:32 am »
Hello--

Wondering how much your 7 month old, 20 pound LO eating??

My DS is eating 1 TBS cereal, 4 tsp fruit, and a 7oz bottle for breakfast.
Same for lunch.
7oz bottle at 3PM
Same for supper as breakfast and lunch.

He's waking quite a bit, always randomly in the night...

I don't know if he's hungry, teething, or having separation anxiety??  He doesn't have anxiety during the day AT ALL!

PLEASE HELP!  I'm tired and need sleep!

Liam is bf & 22.5lb (7mo on xmas day) - he has 4 bf & eats about 1/4-1/3 cup of food 3 times a day. My health nurse did suggest I could up that to 1/2 cup as he is so big, but she said to make sure I offer more dairy (cheese/yogurt) as part of the increase, but as I have milk allegies I'm going to live with the night waking as I want to hold off on Dairy

He is very distracted (by his big brother) for the 11 & 3 feeds & so I have 1-2 night wakings for bf at night

It is normal to have night wakings...practice moving. But I'd try offering food, to see if you can rule that out before looking for other causes.

Hi Kate--

Thanks for sharing!

I was BF my DS until he turned about 5 months old....I slowly ran out of milk and I was devastated!  I wish I could still BF Asher.

So does the cheese and yogurt fill them up for longer?  I would've thought that 7 months was a little to young to offer cheese!  Shows what i know!

Asher will be 7 months on Christmas eve...sounds like our DS are VERY close in age!

SO...you think that I should offer a bottle for his night waking??  Do you think that I will create a habit by doing this?  I'm so afraid that he'll start waking to be fed!  Let me know what you think!

Thanks again for your input!

Beth hop on over to the EASY forum & the April May05 babies thread... you will see lots of us are going through the same thing.

It is ok by the guidelines I have to offer cooked/processed dairy to non allergice babies from 7months. I think the fat in it does help fill up longer than veg/fruit.
