6 month old napping in my bed
« on: December 24, 2005, 06:21:07 am »
My 6 month old daughter has been napping in my bed since day one.  She has always done well.  She sleeps for 2 hours for 2 naps a day right now.  But, now that she is beginning to move I am nervous that she will roll herself off my bed.  Any thoughts on how to transition her to her crib for nap times.  (She sleeps in her crib through the night but has always napped in my bed.) :?

Only one way - cross your fingers and put her down in her bed!
good luck

6 month old napping in my bed

Hello.  I let Lindsey nap in my bed for her am nap until she was about 4-5 months old and I too was worried about her falling off the bed so I moved her to her crib. Needless to say it did not go to well.  It took a while to get her used to napping in a different place.  The only thing you can do really is just continue with her windown routine and instead of putting her in your bed put her in the crib and hope for the best.  It is going to be a change for her so expect some resistance. If you be as consistant with putting her in the crib as you were with putting her in your bed hopefully she will catch on quickly.  Don't cave in and go back to putting her on your bed.  She really does need the safety of her crib now that she is getting older.  Good Luck, let us know how it goes.
