How soon or late would I see gas?
« on: December 29, 2005, 03:02:40 am »
DD had her first taste of sweet potatoes this morning.  Late this afternoon, firm tummy and very fussy.  Part of this may have been, strange environment, and new people.   Or being fed by my sister, who I  don't think uncollapsed the nipple.  So she may have gotten more air than usual.   Now she has major gas and is happier.  Should I try the 'taters again, or wait a bit?  No idea if it was the food, or all the other stuff at this point.
When you're soaring through the air, I'll be your solid ground.  Take every chance you dare.  I'll still be there when you come back down.

The first time my DS had sweet potatoes (at breakfast) he had gas and pooped all day including at his bedtime bottle (before that was a once-a-day regular).  A few weeks later his system was better able to handle them.  He loves the taste -- they are his favorite food!

Sweet potatoes gave Tyler gas when he was younger. I'd give them to him in the morning, and like clockwork, he'd wake up at 10 that night fussing and farting. Eventually his system got used to it, but until then, a dose of Mylicon always fixed it.
