Judy!    No, I didn't put the cheezy toast in the toaster.  I had toasted the bread first and then melted the cheese on top in the oven.  I'm not that bad in the kitchen....although my sister is!   My biggest problem lately is putting something in the oven or on the stove and then coming to read the latest posts and then forgetting about the stove.    Darn website is way too addictive.

Not much time to post...must go get some sleep. My (and DH's) NY resolution (one of them) is to go to bed earlier. I'm hoping that will help me get inspired to get up early and work out...probably not 5:00 a.m. (MACAIRE and I forget...someone else), but maybe 6ish or so. I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one struggling with post-baby weight still. I SO had the wrong idea about how quickly it would come off, and now I'm starting to get discouraged.

MICKY--thanks for posting the pic of the cheesy toast...it made my night!!

I am with you guys on the buying condoms thing. I'm always afraid I'm going to run into someone I know...like from church or something. I don't know why I'm worried...they'd probably be glad I have a sex life.

Well, off to sleep...hoping EVERYONE has a good night.

Michelle yes!!  Tell your dh I will post a pic of me breastfeeding the twins later tonight.  :)  NOT!!  Just what I need - my boobs hanging out all over the net!! :)

Zoe didn't get her first tooth till 9months and I'd given her toast from about 7.5months on.. and cottage cheese and cheerios.  She gummed them up just fine.

Traci If I were Holly I'd call the pedi.  Definitely sounds like it could be ears, especially coming off a cold.  And with dh and her switching off pu/pd through early evening to night - we do it.  Whoever's available goes in. Of course after we're both in bed seems I'm the only 'available' resource :)

Kate just chuckling chuckling chuckling (about the toaster thing)

Naomi was Riley pulling up to stand prior to this?  Gosh I haven't even moved the girls' cribs down yet.  They try to pull up but have only been successful if holding my fingers and I help pull them up... yikes.

Hey what do all our babies weigh?  My girls were weighed today and they are 15lbs 2oz and 15lbs 8oz at 8months.  They've only gained 2lbs since they were in three months ago - gosh we're not going to make the 20lbs we need at a year to turn their seats around.  LOL  Zoe was 21lbs 8oz at this age!!

Ok wanna hear a funny?  I was about to hop in the shower tonight when Sarah (still awake ) popped in for a pee.  So of course I'm naked and well we chatted about hoo hoo's the other night right gals and as I mentioned I do the full shave every couple days.  Well she's sitting on the toilet and I'm standing there talking to her (it's a SMALL bathroom) so she's eye level ... anyway... she says "oh looooook, your gina has dirt on it.  Gotta wash it off!!"  (stuble)  So I agreed and then crouched down for the rest of our conversations

Off to sleep.... WHY do I stay up till 11 every night???  Every morning I curse myself for this!!!!!!!!

ok - here's a pic dh took last month of the position the girls' feed in.  It's hard to feed when people are around because they are always coming off and looking around like this   and if there's blanket on (anytime there's a guy in the house) they either try to pull at it or Z or S grab it (they don't understand the need for privacy)  Tonight Sarah came up and Hannah had pulled off and she says "ohhhhh, your nipple, baby squished it!" all concerned.  LOL

OMG...I am totally LOL at this whole cheesy toast thing...and I haven't even seen the picture...too many pages not enough time..the GUNT...too funny and a little gross too!) ...buying condoms...I can't remember what all else...all I know is that I feel like my parents just moved and I had to change schools and all my friends are still at the same school having a grad old time while I am off at my "new" school called WORK! Ugh!

I am really starting to enjoy my students....although I do have some real challenges.  One of my kids is "Oppositional-Defiant" and has Asperger's Syndrome (sp?)  ...OK this is flashing me back to Ankie's post about Arwyn's Short Nap Syndrome.  I want to read UP just for reference for my teaching/discipline style.

BTW teaching is a whiole new game now that I am a parent....soooooooo much more empathy/ compassion etc..and I thought I was really over the top in all of those areas before.

Love the breastfeeding pic!  You are somethin' else Judy!

Hugs to Holly.  Hope she gets it sorted.  Sorry now great pu/pd advice here.

Thanks for all of the bum rash advice.  She is starting to clear up and still has the four top teeth all coming in..they've mostly broken  through but I am thinking that could be the "cause" of the rash?

So I ahve been having Amy (child care provider/friend) give Sophie the sippy with formula after nap #1 but she's really not taking much from it, maybe an ounce or two.  Should we be offering her a bottle if she doesn't take it from the sippy?  Or just assume she is basically "dropping" this feeding, still give the afternoon feed in a bottle and use the am "snack" feed as a time to get her to take the milk from the sippy?  Any ideas?

I am so excited about chatting tomorrow....I need a good belly laugh :)

Hi grils

ROTFLMAO @ lots of things, including gina, still the toast cracks me up, Bec thinking we'd even consider not writing much for a week (yeah right!), buying condoms and other things I can't remember.

I'm about to go to bed as I'm tired and yawning and can hardly stay awake. Again, Ankie and Traci how do you do it????? But wanted to let you know we had another cry free day with Daniel and his eating. I think reinstating the 3pm bottle helped, although fo Daniel it's at 4pm when he wakes from his nap. He even ate my own cooking again (left over roast mushed up).

Those of you who have got Annabel Karmel's book, which one do you have, there's a few available and not sure what to get cos all of them they have to order in for me. I want one that will 'last the distance' not just suitable for now.

Traci, good news about Cole going down, that sounds like a big step. Now that you know he can do it, hopefully it will make it easier next time. Send  my hugs to Holly and Brady.

Hannah, I have heard some babies won't drink milk from a sippy. Can Amy give Sophie the bottle for a few days to see if the quantity is consistent or sippy induced quantity.

Still getting cards which is great, Naomi's and Bec's in the last couple of days. Thanks.  :D

That's it from me, hopefully I'll be able to make the chat tomorrow.

Night night ladies.

TRaci - Sounds promising I hope you had a good night.

Bec - AWWW, shucks we're gonna miss you, a whole week?

Judy - ROTFLMAO, dirty gina!  Sophie is scheduled to go to the ped. for a 9 month check-up, needle.  I even called after I read your post and I am going in at 9 months.  So, no idea what Sophie weighs but she is pretty solid she was 19lbs12oz at 6 months so I imagine she is at least 21 or 22lbs.  When people say ohhh can I hold her DH and I always chuckle and wait to see how many minutes until they start to show the "holy sh!t this kid is heavy" signs.  The girls seem like a good size to me that is 30+ pouinds of baby you're hauling around ect...pheww!

Holly via Traci - I sure hope she has gone to the ped.  better safe than sorry.  I really hope she is able to get some rest.  Poor girl big hugs!!

MIchelle - Sophie didn't really start using her teeth until she got her front 2.  She now takes bites of everything and lets the rest fall out of her mouth and giggles, more a novelty than a tool I think!  I would think Molly would be fine but like Nikki said start with softer stuff.

Hannnah - I was getting worried, glad you are back!  I don't know about the sippy, Sophie barely uses hers at all, only after supper and it seems to be more of a toy than anything, she is guaranteed to get hiccups 5 times out of 10 after supper  from sucking all the half air half water.  I have never put milk in it though, just water.  I should probably offer it more.

I know James (where in the heck is Lisa) has all of his milk from a cup but is anyone else very vigilent with the sippy?

Kate - Garbage before naps, check!

Hayley - When you say you mush up the roast what exactly do you mean mush.  Do you blend it?  We had roast for dinner last night too!

Whew ... so much to catch up on!  I was such a zombie yesterday that I didn't get to read very much but this morning I am feeling much better!!  So, Carter went to bed after we had a meeting with a potential day care at 9:00pm ( a bit late but ...).  ANyway, I heard him start to cry at around 11:30 (just after I went to bed ... had to watch ER!!) and he settled himself.  Then I woke up every hour but Carter was still sleeping!  Go figure! I could not for the life of me get to sleep last night.  It was like I was waiting for him to wake up and he never did.  So even though I got no sleep I still feel better knowing that Carter made it through the night!  YEAH!!!  I actually had to wake him up at 8:00am!!!!!  DH left for work at 5:00am again but we actually turn the bathroom fan on (acroos the hall form Carter's room) to drown out the noise of the dog being fed and DH getting ready.  I couldn't believe it!  Totally hope that I am not jinxing myself ( doing anti-jinx dance ... Kate's right?!).  His naps were 1.5 hours and 2 hrs yesterday as well.  When I looked back in my journal, I noticed that all the nights he woke he had meat for lunch and not for dinner.  But when he slept through he had it for dinner.  Wonder if that helps make them last through the night?  Who knows?  Carter usually only wakes for hunger reasons (for the first 7 months of his life anyway).  He slept through every night except for 2 nights at 3 month growth spurt and 2 nights at 6 month growth spurt.  Is there a 9 month growth spurt that I didn't know about??  He did grow out of his clothes really quickly?  I must be dumb not to have realized he was having a growth spurt

What size clothes is everyone's lo wearing these days?  Carter is mostly in 12 mos stuff (the length fits but the waists are too big).  For shoes though he is in size  5 or 12-18 months for Robeez.  This kid has his dad's huge feet!!!

Andrea:  I with you on buying condoms.  Dh doesn't like to do it either and will just buy whatever he grabs.  I tell him that he has to actually read what he is getting!!!  As for AF, I am still ebf but I got mine back at 2 months, lasted for a month then nothing for 2.5months then I have had 3 fairly regular ones.  When I dropped to 4 feeds a day they became even more regular.  Usually I have a 25 day cycle and am currently at like 30 days or close to it (sorry if tmi)

Micky: LOVE the cheesy toast!! Did you try some???  LOL  :D

Macaire and Michelle:  FAP & GUNT ... too funny!  Didn't even realize there was words for it!!!  Nice ... guys think of everything.  Maybe we should come up for words for their um ... problem areas!!  Unless there are some and I am just out in the woods!!!

Judy:  ROTFLMAO!!!  Dirty Gina!!!  :D  The things they say!!!  You should tell her that when she is older!!!  Makes me look forward to the toddler years ... just a little bit though!!!  Oh and Carter is currently 18lbs 7 oz and 30in long.  He is a long skinny baby!!!

Richelle:  Carter LOVES his sippy cup!  It is a 4oz cup and he empties it atleast 4 times a day.  I usually only put water in it because that's all he gets besides bm (breast milk not bowel movement !!! :D )

That's it for me ... sorry long post!!  Looking forward to tonight's chat!!!

Cathy - WHat kind of cup is Carter using?  Does it have a vent in it or just free flow?

CATHY--SOOO glad for Carter! I find that when I've been up with Liv for a few nights, I keep waking up once she starts sleeping through again, too. It's like my body can't fully relax b/c it's in OK-have-to-get-up-any-minute mode. I think there is a 9-month growth spurt, isn't there? YOu might check BWSAYP if you have it.
And Liv is wearing 12-18 months clothes (yes, she's my little Chubbs!!)
