Good morning and welcome to the new thread
Kate you are so cute. I can't wait to read your boring posts again soon
Michelle, that is great that you and ex dh (can you call him that?
) Are on such good terms. Dh and his ex are fairly good at dealing with the situation but she pretty much makes all of the decisions schooling etc and he just sort of goes along. Kinda drives me crazy but what can I do? We see him every other weekend and holidays. We have him all week this week because of xmas break. He absolutely loves Sophie. It is really cute. In fact yesterday morning (they share a room) I went downstairs to make her a bottle in the morning and she was fussing a bit in her crib while I was making it. Anyhow, Brendan woke up and I could hear him on the monitor saying "It's Ok Sophie girl I'm right here" over and over. It was so precious. I have to be really careful what I say as I have mentioned before that Sophie would "miss" him when he left to go back to mom's and he gets really sad and says "But Sophie, I have to go to first grade. You understand right?" Aside from the room sharing thing, I think he really wishes he could be with us more(because of her).
Also, thanks for the input on Mason and the tv watching thing. I really know that it is not going to warp Sophie's brain if the tv is on...I guess it's probably my own issue. I kind of hate having the tv on especially as background noise. It seems like it was always on when I was growing up. It is always on at IL's and no one is watching! It drives me crazy to be sitting together talking and have the tv on. Anyhow. I really have appreciated the conversation about it.
Bec..you are too funny. The "other" kinds of smoke...I guess I should leave that up to your imagination
Otherwise I might not be allowed to visit my lifeline anymore
Lol at "Helle" and Santa's expression is too funny. Also...stranger danger in the chat  IKWYM. I finally learned how to check who's in there before I go in.
Silly me...I still enjoy chatting with anyone most of the time though it's not as satisfying as having you girls there.
Roz...good to see you and Cathy welcome home.
Where's Ankie???
Nikki- lol about the baby Neptune song...it is actually the song from World Animals...the ocean part. I only know this becasue Sophie loves that song...if I start singing it when the movie is not on...she whips her head around to look at me like "Hey! How do YOU know that song?" It makes me think of what it will be like in the future when we are driving in the car and some old song comes on the radio that was popular when I was in highschool and it's come back around and I'll start singing along and she'll say "Mom...stop...that's so embarassing  "
Andrea...I have never really looked closely at the ADD ADHD/and tv studies so I have no idea. I am happy to assume that your ped is right and that genetics are probably a huge factor as well as other environmental things besides tv watching. I think it would be really hard to pin something like add/adhd (which is so subjective anyway) on tv watching. I think the fact that there is a correlation is not a surprise, but that certainly doesn't mean that one causes the other.
I bet Ankie knows more about this?? Or Kate or Erin? (The other teachers maybe?) IF we want to keep discussing it that is...feel free to drop it
OK, one more chapter to my book here. I forgot to mention one of my favorite xmas presents. (I would say pressies...but I'm trying to hold on to a little of my americanisms... why? I don't really know, Crikey!) MIL bought me an antique baby crib. I absolutely love it. It will be basically decorative in Sophie's rom for her stufffed animals etc...but eventually she could play with it as a doll bed (IF she plays with dolls...:)OMG, she is going to play with dolls isn't she?...she's probably going to want barbies too..I am sooo in for it) Anyhow. I am excited for her to have her own room soon so that i can set it up..
Woops...one more thing. Richelle I am turning green over the high thread count sheets I love that kind of stuff.
Also, I would say I found the BW site much the same way you did. Read the book, needed clarification, posted, didn't get much response. Posted again later, found you girls and the rest is history
