Confussing schedules!
« on: December 29, 2005, 21:46:15 pm »
My daughter has become a 1hour napper.
But my schedule for her is 4 hours.

Sample:
6:00 am - Wake & Eat
8:00 am - Nap
10:00 am - Wake & Eat
12:00 pm - Nap
2:00 pm - Wake & Eat
4:00 pm - Nap
6:00 pm - Wake & Eat
8:00 pm - Bed

But now she is doing
6:00 am - Wake & Eat
8:00 - Nap
9:00 - Wake
10:00 - Eat
11:00 Nap
12:00 - Wake
2:00 - Eat & Fall asleep
3:00 - Wake
5:00 - Nap
6:00 - Wake & Eat
8:00 - Bed

Do any of you think this is weird.
It doesn't keep my schedule as I would like with Wakes & Eats at the same time but she still eats at the right times and takes plenty of naps.

When she wakes she is Happy and Well rested so I know she doesn't need to sleep any longer.

Any advise on this one???
Should I just deal with what she is currently doing?
Should I try to make her sleep longer even though she seems well rested after 1 hour?

thanks for your thoughts

Confussing schedules!

Hi Charlee's Mom

First, how old is dd?  Also, how long has she been doing this type of schedule?  Also, has she always received about 10 hours of sleep at night?

Please let me know dd's age and we will go from there.

Thanks!

My DD is 6months (turning 7 months tomorrow).
She has only been on this schedule since she turned 6 months.
He schedule was different up till 6 months and solids were introduced.
She is getting 11 to 12 hours of sleep every night.
Sleeps VERY WELL.  Even at nap times but they are short - just one hour.
Every now and then she will take a longer nap - like today she did 2 one hour naps and then a 2 hour nap out of no where.
She normally get's about 4 hours of naps a day and then her 11 to 12 of night sleep.

Your thoughts would be appriciated!
Thanks

Sorry, but just a little confused because according to your schedule dd wakes at 6 am and goes to bed at 8pm.

At any rate, quite honestly I think you are doing great!  I really consider a short nap to be 45 minutes or less.  Since dd tends to take a couple of 1 hour naps, but has and can take a longer nap, we know she has the ability to sleep longer.  And since she sleeps very well at night, I think there isn't a whole lot to worry about.  At 6 months of age she should be getting 11-12 hours at night and 2.5-3 hours on average during the day.  So she is fitting in quite nicely.

She is still taking a 3rd nap, but many babies don't drop the 3rd nap until apx. 7 to even 9 months of age, so again, I think that is fine.  You may see her start to resist the 3rd nap.  If that is the case, then you will definitely want to look at readjusting the day so that you stretch out her A time and her 2nd nap of the day happens later than 11 am (closer to 1pm).  Until then though, I really wouldn't worry too much.

HTH?

Sorry to confusse you.
The sample schedule I got from a forum.
Her schedule was the one I posted but she normally goes to bed between 6:00 & 7:00 pm.
If she is having a long day (getting every nap) I max her out at 8:00 pm.
So, she is getting anywhere from 11 to 12 hours depending on the day.
Thanks for the help and thoughts.
