Any other vegetarian babies?

I just hopped on this thread and am really interested by it.
DH is vegetarian and I'm about 90% and so far ds has been veggie too.

I've done pureed lentils and navy beans and just started with egg yolk last week.
The article though says you can introduce smooth nut butters at 6-8 mos and also mentions eggs but doesn't specify just the yolk.
Has anyone heard of either of these things being given before a year? My doc said 1 year for these.
Just curious - I don't know if I would risk it, but we are having a little concern about ds's weight so I've been trying to bulk things up a bit.

It's generally recommended that you hold off on egg whites and nut butters until 1 yr. We waited on egg whites, but I think we did start with nut butters around 10 mo with the dr's okay. We have no history of food allergies in either of our families, and we didn't give him nut butters very often or in large amounts, and it hasn't been an issue. That's just what we did, though. It's always safest to wait if you're uncertain.
