Eigtheen Months and still going strong!

I feel so proud of myself yet I have my mother and other people saying things like 'isn't he a bit old for that now?"    I can't see him or me wanting to stop either. I never thought I'd manage to feed for this long but it's just gone like clockwork! And plus, this is my third and sadly last child so I kind of realise that this is the last time I will ever breastfeed, which makes me very sad too

You go Minxy!!!
I bf my son til he was about 17 months, he gave up when I got pg.
If you're happy, and he's happy, then you carry on - you must be doing something right!

Wonderful! Congratulations! You are right to feel proud of yourself, especially when you are around people who would rather see you stop. It is true that many women prefer to baby their last baby more than the first ones because they know this is the last one.

Good for you to be keeping it up with the negative comments all around you!  It IS hard when others just don't *get it*.  :x If both of you are happy nursing, why stop!?! :D

Congratulations!  What a great job you're doing!  Try not to let others' opinions get in the way of what you think is best for you and your lo.

Thanks everyone for your positive replies. Makes me feel inspired. I definately feel it's because he's our last child that I've fed him for so long. I get distraught at the thought of stopping!

Actually, I read an article a month or so again that said if you can breastfeed till your little one is two years old you will cut your risk of getting breast cancer to half.

You will cut your risk and your baby's risk, too.

Really? Gosh, that is amazing isn't it? I have a big smile now  :D There really should be adverts for the pros of Breastfeeding. I really don't think enough mothers realise how good it is.
