when to drop feed
« on: January 05, 2006, 00:38:40 am »
Hi everyone!
Monica is 4.5 months old and I just started some rice cereal.
She bf 5 times a day right now and is doing great so I don't want to mess with a good thing, but the last two feeds seem rather quick and small.
HEre is her schedule
8:30 or 9am wake and bf
10:30 or 11--nap
12:30 or so bf
activity
nap
3:30 or 4 bf then cereal
activity
short nap
6:30 or so bf
8:30 or 9 bf
asleep for the night

Just wondering if I should change things up a bit to save myself time in the evening?
She is doing well all in all--weighs about 14 lbs, though moved down from 90%ile to 50%ile in weight hence not waiting too long to start cereal.
any suggestions?
Thanks!
Bea

If she's dropped in weight gain, I don't know if I'd drop a feed yet. Maybe wait until 6 months or so? She sounds like a great baby, on 4hrly and sleeping through the night. Tank her up like you are in the evenings so she sleeps through.
