tricks to get the clumps out?
« on: January 05, 2006, 03:14:52 am »
I just recently started preparing a pitcher a day of formula for 6 wk old dd.  I find it very hard to get the clumps out.  I tried shaking, whisking, mixing with a fork... I still see little clumps.  Anybody out there got some trix?

TIA
Sheri

I let it hang out in the fridge for a couple of hours before giving it another big shake.  Other ideas out there?

I find keeping the powder in the fridge makes it easy to scoop and then mixing with the boiled water still fairly warm.  I do it by bottle and I count 20seconds of stirring with the spoon per bottle.  Tarri

I measure out the formula in a jug, then add just boiled water, works like a charm, and you won't break your wrist on the wisk!!

I use to boil water to mix with the formula and all you have to do is stir (premake the night before), but now I just use really hot tap water and shake and don't have any problems.  When I first started bottles I noticed the clumps using cool water.
