Sleep more before or after growth spurt

If anyone knows this answer. I have heard a few people say they sleep more right before, but the majority say it is right after the growth spurt that they sleep more because then the brain releases growth hormone. Please let me know what the real answer is or what you have heard

Pre-growth spurt they go into an "eating frenzy", where they store the necessary calories and such in order for the body to burn during the work period of adding a few inches to height and such. Sleep is often affected because the body is gearing up.

You only grow when you're sleeping, as when you are sleeping, it's the only time the body releases the necessary hormones that trigger growth.

Aha! That would explain my lo's need to sleep so much today after our couple days of every 2 hr eating!
