what to do first?
« on: January 06, 2006, 20:18:17 pm »
I have a 5-month-old boy. He has acid reflux (is now on Reglan and Zantac) and so when combined with my child-centered parenting, we got a bad start and he has many bad habits. I've broken the eat-to-sleep habit, except for his night feedings, and most of the time I don't have to rock him to sleep, and he goes to sleep fine as long as I can catch the signs (he's a touchy baby). But he wakes up at a great many Brief Awakening times and wants either me or his paci (or both!), and if he has gas he often asks to eat. Which habit do I break first? The paci or needing me? I need him to not ask for it at night because I need to move him in with his sister, and I want to disrupt her sleep as little as possible (she's just turned 2). Help!

Thanks,
Arienne

I'd get rid of the pacifier first because in that transition, he is going to need some comforting.  Good luck.
