Marisa's Mom - I am dying to hear the story behind the dinner for breakfast thing - DS eats dinner for breakfast, too, because Daddy does it! LOL...Not every day, but quite frequently. I have been embarassed to admit that to many people - I guess I just outed us to the rest of the world!
DH got into the habit of eating leftover dinner for breakfast all those years he was single...never lost the habit.
I've been so busy that I haven't visited this site in a while, and I only just noticed this. Um, why is my reply window so small? Didn't we used to have a bigger window to type up our reply? How do I get the larger window?
Anyways, there was a time when DD was very fussy during dinnertime (well, she still can be), and it was hard to get her to eat her dinner foods at dinnertime. So we decided to throw her a curve ball by giving her dinner foods at breakfast time ... cuz she's usually in the best mood in the morring. Her mood is usually best in the morning, and gradually deteriorates throughout the day. So we thought, why not get the "hardest" meal out of the way and feed her the "easy" foods at the end of the day? She was more receptive to eating dinner foods in the morning with her banana (every other bite, alternating; plus DH feeds her breakfast, and she's always easier on him than she is on me). And it was easier on us to give her "easy" foods near the end of the day. So we would sometimes give her a waffle at dinner. I know, it just plain sounds weird. Since her dinner mix (eaten at breakfast) always includes veggies, it was nice to know that we usually got in one good serving of veggies for the day right off the bat, and then we didn't have to stress as much about squeezing veggies in during the rest of the day. It's like I don't have to try as hard to get veggies in again later in the day. Hey, the system works and we don't want to mess with it now. lol. She still tends to be fussy late in the day, but she's definitely happier eating her "easy" and more desirable foods at that time despite her mood.
I'm sure there was something else I wanted to mention, but I'm tired and my brain feels like mush. I'm not too concerned with DD being confused over what's dinner and what's breakfast, she'll get it all sorted out as she grows up.
