Cluster Feeds
« on: January 09, 2006, 16:38:26 pm »
I am BF my 11 week old son and am wondering if I should continue to cluster feed at night.  Usually we feed at 6, 8 and 10 pm and he (usually) sleeps until 2 am and again until 6 am (but last night we were up at 1, 4 and 7 am for some reason).  I don't want to get him in the habit of thinking he should eat every two hours all night long.  I looked in BW but did not see when or at what age to stop cluster feeding.

Hi, Patti.  On pg 25 of the BW Solves all your Problems, Tracy recommends turning the 2 cluster feeds into one feed around 5:30-6 by 8 weeks.  She recommends offering the df between 10-11 until 7 months or as needed.  Hope that helps.  Any more questions, please feel free to ask.
