lots of night wakes
« on: January 10, 2006, 20:29:49 pm »
In the past 3 nights Khyan has been waking lots and calling me over and over and over again quite hysterically he doesnt settle till I go into his room and sit by his cot with my hand on his bum.

I am assuming that he is coming down with something or possibly teething and therefore uncomfortable but I am scared that I am re-inforcing this behaviour by going in there and helping him back to sleep. You must remember that he doesn't go to sleep independently but he was sleeping thru the night so I wasn't too worried.

But now I'm starting to question his reasons for waking

What would you do ?

I would say wait until you know that he is indeed not ill, and do what ever now.  Once you know that he is ok, you will probably want to work on getting him to fall asleep independently.  We are all here to help you!

Thanks Carrie

I have given Khyan pain meds the last 2 nights and he has slept thru both of those nights so I'm thinking he must be having some teething pain.

Thankfully it's not illness.
