Dream Feeds...how much formula to give?
« on: January 13, 2006, 16:53:51 pm »
Hi -

This is our first week implementing EASY and everything is going fairly well so far.  I have a question on the dream feeds though.  I've been taking her out of the crib to breast feed her.  It pretty much wakes her up every time.  I'd like to try giving her a bottle instead because the book said it would be less distruptive.  How much formula should I give?  Normally, if we give her a bottle, she'll take about 6 oz or so.  Should I give her the same amount during the dream feed?  Also, should I take her out of the crib to give her the bottle or do I give it to her while she is lying down in her crib?

Thanks for your help!!

Dream Feeds...how much formula to give?

Hello!  :D
I would start with the 6oz.  My two kids usually only always took 4oz, which is less than what they ate during the day.  I think some moms have fed in the crib, but the majority take them out.  It should be a very relaxed feeding.  It isn't uncommon for them to stir/waken a little  :D   Even if they do wake, the feeding usually relaxes them enough and even puts them back to sleep.
