« on: January 13, 2006, 00:45:31 am »
So far we have tried the following (I'm running out of ideas)

Carrots
Squash*
Sweet Potatos*
Green beans
Peas
Avocados
Potatos*
Apples
Peaches
Banans*
(*=favorites)

This is my list to do:
Zucchini
Broccoli
Kiwi
Plum
Cheries
Apricot
Pineapple

What else?  Can I mix and match yet?

:D Kaitie likes those ones too. Try to avoid citrus. I think if you have gotten past the allergy time with each food you can mix them.

yep you can mix them now, try mixing things that you may not think  as 'normal' for adults, babies have no real concept of whta is yucky to us and usually love anything yo  give them!!

How about parsnips, pears, and/or cauliflower?

I was going to suggest pears. My DD loves pears.  I have also tried her on parsnips, turnip, mango, apricots, plums and prunes.  I also boiled potato and onion and used that as a base to mix with other veggies to start mixing things up a bit. She liked it when I mixed it with peas.

It is funny though. I don't think they really get bored of the same old veggies or at least my DD hasn't yet.  I get bored of feeding it to her but she doesn't seem to mind.

Hi Adria!! :D

Toms favorite mix is "sweet potato medley"  this is sweet potato mived with parsnip, sweed and butternut squash!!

Also apples nixed with pear is a great favorite!

I found it really usefull to get a babyfood recipy book... as it gave me recipys for the corect age. I used Lorane Kelly... but theres a thread at the top of this page giving some diff options :D

At the moment Jack is generally having a mix of, brocolli, cauliflower, peas and carrots, with either potato or sweet potato and either pork, chicken, or beef. He loves pork, apple and sweet potato. Once I have cleared the back log of ready prepared and pureed mixes in the freezer ::), I am going to try him on cauliflower cheese and chicken and sweetcorn. Not sure if you are/have tried intoducing meat, but there are just some of our savoury suggestions! For sweet he basically has a mix of apple and pear or strawberry or banana sometimes mixed with custard.

I would recommend buying a baby food recipe book as they are great for inspiration and also give you the best ideas to to what to mix togehter.

I personally love Annabel Karmel's books as she divides her recipes up into ages and put things together you might not neccessarily consider but babies seem to love. At 1 my dd loves everything you put in front of her, veggies and all - part of that I put down to genes as dh and I are real foodies  :) but I think her recipes have a lot to do with it as well.
