Uuurghhh marmite... I am definately a complete hater of marmite... yuck!

I grew up having Bovril ( the stuff in a jar) spread in a thin layer on hot buttered toast - now that is gorgeous! I am not sure I would give it to a LO though as it is very salty.

Bovril on toast brings back memories of my grandparents every time i have it. mmmmm happy food for happy memories xxx

I have to agree with the aussie here vegemite is great.Heard marmite tast similar but not sure.We live in spain and take 2kilos of vegemite, over with us every year. Our daughter is 4 and loves it and only spends 2 months every year in aus.I am presuming it is simliar but vegemite has alot of vitamins in it for kids to,so it is really good for you.It is also good on crackers with butter for lunch....

"I like my marmite to hurt" was once in DH internet profile... (we met on the net in a political forum)

It's best on mild cheddar on toast :)

ooh, my little guy loves Marmite and Bovril.  He always asks for 'Bobril toast'  and sometimes even has marmite or bovril spread on his french toast(eggy bread :D )  Also use it for stews, mince, gravy etc  Yum!

I'm definitely a Marmite mate.  I've had it since I was a kid and still miss it (I can get it from the English shop here, but it costs a fortune!).  Vegimite is ok now I'm used to it, but it sure doesn't beat the real thing.

We just introduced Beatrice to vegemite the other day.  She had a little bit on a crumpet and devoured it!
