I have a 9mth DS who is a good sleeper both with naps and at night time. I had been having relatively good success with self-settling, on only the odd occasion would we need to do pat/sh. Since Saturday, we have been having screaming when being put into cot (he is happy to play there, so Idon't think he is frightening of being in the cot). He gets really quite upset
at times. I have been going in and saying goodnight and laying him down and trying to do pat/sh. He rolls around the cot quite happily while I am standing there. Tonight he also started standing and when I put my hands on him he layed down.
I don't want to get into any accidental parenting where I am unable to leave the room till he is asleep. We haven't changed any routines and I have tried extending A times ( he is currently on roughly 4hr A times) sliglty to see if this would improve, but it hasn't.
Last week, he was giving me tired signals of rubbing his face. When I did this, I could lay him down and somtimes he would have a whinge, but go to sleep. Since Saturday, it has all changed.
Could this be a separtation anxiety problem and if so, how do I get him to feel okay about me leaving the room? He is quite happy to play on his own duringthe day and is fine with me going to another room etc?
Thanks for any advice
