Does he need a dreamfeed?
« on: January 16, 2006, 22:58:38 pm »
I'm trying to get my 6 month old on a routine for the first time.
He normally goes to bed at 11:00pm/12:00am and wakes up at 6:30 for a bottle.

Yesterday since I got him up early, he went to bed at 9:30pm. I was planning on waking him at 7:00 but he woke me up instead at 5:30 for a bottle.
The book says I should put him in bed at 7:00 tonight but I just don't see how he will make until 7:00 tomorrow morning.
So do I do a dreamfeed? when? how much- a full feeding?

fogot to mention he gets four 7-8oz bottles and 2 oz of solids 3 times a day.

Hi, Isaiah's Mom!

Ooo, dreamfeeds can be tricky!  Sounds to me like your LO needs it, though.

Yes, as the book says, I would try to get him to sleep around 7.  (By 8 at least, since he's new to this!)  Then I would feed him another bottle around 11:00 or 11:30.  That should get him through to 7:00.  (Or even later.)

Do you understand how to do a df?  Just wondering as I was SO clueless the first time I tried to do it!

HTH!
