BF every 2 hours.
« on: January 17, 2006, 02:13:46 am »
Hi - I posted something similar in the EASY forum.
My DS is 12 weeks and eats every 2 hours.  I've been trying to get him to extend but have not succeeded.  I've noticed a few people on this board that have said that their LOs were BF every 2 hours also until 3-4 months.  What did you do about naps? Did you just do a 45 minute nap every sleep cycle?  That has been what has been happening with us and it has been so tiring for me and I don't know how restful it is for him.
Thanks.

Hi melalyse!

My DS breastfed every two hours until he about three months old. I battled for weeks to get him into a three hour easy routine but nothing worked and my efforts left me exhausted. In the end I just followed him, I was much more relaxed and eventually of his own accord he extended the gaps between nursings by himself and his naps extended aswell. I know this doesnt really help if your feeling exhausted. The only other thought I had has was that he may just be doing it to increase your supply if it is a recent thing. I remember having a few days of him nursing very hour when he was about three weeks old, I know just how tired you must feels and like you are at your wits end but things will probaly get eaisier by themselves. Remember you are not alone and we have all been through too. HTH
