Fruit/Oat bar recipes anyone?
« on: January 17, 2006, 15:27:10 pm »
DD loves the Goodies bars made from oats and fruit. I've looked on the wrappers and the only ingredients are oats, fruit and juice.
I'd really like to start making them myself to save a bit of money but need to have a recipe to have an idea of quantities.

Any ideas?

What a good idea  :)  I spend a small fortune on them too, and the only alternative I could come up with was a flapjack style recipe with added dried fruit, but that has too much sugar for an everyday snack. Do you think that replacing the sugar with some fruit juice would make it taste OK or just soggy?!
We have also tried oat biscuits with dried fruit but for Fraser cereal bar is synonymous with snack, so we tend to come back to them after a day or two whatever else is on offer. I think they are yummy too though I'm even more partial to the Organix tomato crisps!

I hope you manage to find a good recipe  :)
