Only wants breast milk! No water/juice/formula, Aghhh!

My lo only wants to drink breast milk!  The problem is I am trying to wean at 7 months old.  Any suggestions as to how to handle.  Plus, because I am really only breast feeding 4 times a day (she doesn't generally take any breastmilk after her solids,) I am very dry by the dinner feed.  So, she is still hungry, wakes up a few times during her night sleep, and then she gets constipated because of all the solids she eats- creating yet another problem.  Every now again she drinks water, but only out of a water bottle or glass type open container because she sees us doing it.  We bought a medicine pacifier dispenser to MAKE her drink juice (although haven't used it yet-- just bought yesterday.)  Otherwise, she presses her lips tight and she won't budge.  She'll even cry with her lips tight!

I have to admit, I feel like this whole feeding thing is for the birds.  I feel like a bad mom.  Please help!!

have u tried a sippy or straw cup??  my lo won't take anything but bm from a bottle but will drink water or juice out of a straw or sippy cup.  as far as constipation, try some prunes...just not every day like i was - gas from

just thought..also try pears, peaches and peas always work for my lo too and  are a way less potent when it comes to gas or belly aches.  water helps as well...my dd won't take formula from a bottle, any kind of cup or anything  :?

Have you thought about expressing breast milk, giving it to her in a cup /bottle/sippy & then adding juice or formula gradually adding more & more juice / formula until she gets used to the taste?

I mixed and it worked.  She's almost now completely weaned, is getting more liquids and is no longer constipated.  Yey!!!  I'd be interested in knowing why it's not good to mix too...

i am waiting for a reply from the bfing forum...i would really like to know cuz lo will not take formula at all and sometimes if my mom is watching her there may be a need if i don't have enough pumped milk...
