Emptying the breast
« on: January 18, 2006, 10:02:29 am »
My 12 week old has recently been eatign a lot less and therefore never empties the breast during a feed (not that he ever has as I have always had a lot of milk). Should i be expressign after a feed t o empty the breast or will this cause more milk to be produced??

Although I'm no expert, I think if you don't express and keep up your feeding schedule, your body will adapt and produce less milk. Watch out for engorgment, but if you're comfortable, don't worry too much about it.
