the book mentions pumping an hour after feeding to increase supply - is this an hour from the time I start feeding or an hour from the time I finish?

It depends on how long your lo feeds. If you have a 45 min feeder, then I would wait more than 15 min. If your lo only feeds 10-15 min, then I would pump an hour from the start of that feed, but you can be flexible.
