lo hates yoghurt and cheese
« on: January 21, 2006, 15:32:09 pm »
i think it must be the smell or something; he just turns his head away and won't even try any.  he's only 10mo, but i am starting to get nervous about his calcium.  he drinks enough formula that i know he is ok, but i would still like to improve his intake.

does anyone else have this problem?  what else can i give him?  i thought tofu might be a good idea, but we still have to try that.

Mine goes through phases of hating yogurt and cheese. I don't worry too much about it because he loves milk and will gladly drink it all the live long day if I let him. I wouldn't worry too much about it until you've started whole milk. If you've got a milkaholic on your hands, he'll easily get enough calcium. If not, you might have to start looking for other sources of calcium, like you said. For the yogurt, have you tried mixing it with fruit or veggie puree? For now, keep trying...I've read that toddlers often have to be exposed to a new food 10-15 times before they'll even think of taking a bite!
