Kori-I don't think a little kool aid is that bad.  :) The way you do it sounds more like water anyway. My SIL gives it to her kids all the time. They probably drink about four glasses a day. She does half the amount of sugar.

Ryan's mum-Kool aid is a flavored drink mix. It comes in a powder and you add sugar and water to it.  :) Alot of people stay away from it because it contains alot of sugar and alot of artificial dyes.  :)

Kori, my ds won't drink much milk either, but the pediatrician says that's okay, as long as he gets calcium from other sources.  Have you tried those drinkable yogurt drinks?  I admit, they don't look very appealing to me, but you never know what toddlers will/won't eat or drink.

I haven't tried those yogurt drinks but was thinking about it just yesterday. I was trying to find the ones that look more like juice boxes. They didn't have them at Wal-Mart. She does eat cheese and other dairy.

My dd drinks milk mostly with meals and water in between until dh introduced juice a few weeks ago.  She only has juice once or twice a day and it's under 6 ounces total (I think that's the recommended amount for toddlers...or 8 oz).  I think diluted juice is a great way to get more water in them with less sugar.

Hi.

My 18 mo drinks almost juice and nothing else. Actually she does not like fruits (so far) so I choose 100% fruit juice, and mineral water for her. Then I mix them in a 1 to 1 rate. In this way, she drinks water and "juice" as well at the same time.  ;)

Josie drinks lots of milk, some water, rarely juice (really only orange juice on the weekends with breakfast), sometimes hot (warm) tea (she likes the fruity herbal kinds, unsweetened), and occasionally hot chocolate, without much chocolate in it, for a special treat.
no koolaid!  In fact, we threw out my supply of it just the other day, since I won't be able to drink it with her around  ::)

Hi,

I give my daughter milk at least three times a day (morning, lunch, before going to bed) and than through the day she drinks watered down juice (and my mother in law thinks I'm crazy for still doing it) or water or TEA. Yeah I know some people thinks I am probably crazy but where I come from its normal. Juice comes when they are bigger. But ONLY fruit tea which doesn't have any caffeine in it and I add some sugar to it but not too much. Elizabeth loves it!
