reflux babies and solid foods?
« on: January 30, 2006, 15:00:59 pm »
Hi,
Jake's reflux has improved since the introduction of solids, but I am fast discovering he can't seem to tolerate;
too much cheese
too much yogurt/fromage frais
orange or any other citrus type food
tomatoes( so also of pasta dishes are out)
Nearly all commercial baby food gets coughed up or refused.
The HV seems to think there is no allergies as such, and as he grows these foods should be more easily digested.
He seems to really enjoy root vegetables, but I am fast running out of ideas for meals.
Any other reflux babies mamas got ideas or have experienced the similar thing?

My lo has reflux as well, and we started solids about a month ago. So far we've only gotten to rice cereal, sweet potato, carrot and applesauce. Going to try pear today... but anyway the things that you listed make sense as things your lo can't tolerate as they are all acidic. The root vegetables should be very easily tolerated, even though it means boring meals as you say. But, if Jake doesn't know any better he won't get bored right?  ;)
