Help!
« on: January 30, 2006, 21:40:38 pm »
My eleven week old son cries everytime I try to put him down....wherever it is (swing, floor, bouncy seat, crib, etc).  He is only content when being held.  And, sleeping is another issue.  I have tried the pat/shush method, but all he does is scream and scream.  It ends up waking his two year old sister.  The only time he will stay asleep is when he is in his car seat.  Otherwise he is awake every 2 hours at night and only naps for about 15-20 min at a time during the day.  Any suggestions?!?!?

Hi,
I was wondering if you swaddle your son when he sleeps? Since he sleeps in his carseat or in your arms, he probably likes the feeling of being confined. There is a post on the general sleep board that describes how to do an Aussie swaddle. You might also post over in the general sleep section. There are lots of moms with babies this age and can give you great advice.  :)

any chance he has reflux?  sometimes it hurts to lie all the way down.  there is a sticky in the reflux board detailing symptoms - you might want to see if anything sounds familiar.
