RDI for toddlers
« on: February 01, 2006, 09:08:41 am »
Can anyone please tell me how much cow's milk or dairy my 13.5 month old should have each day?  I'm SURE my nurse said 300ml, but daycare says its 600ml.

I've googled it, to no avail.

I think it really depends on whether she is getting other forms of dairy (i.e. yoghurt, cheese, etc.)
Depending on that I think anywhere between 300 and 600 is fine.
So if she eats some yoghurt and cheese then she will be fine on 300, but if she does nto take any other form of dairy then she should be taking more cow's milk.

Sophie, Australian guidelines are minimum of 600mls of milk OR equivalent, so that means yogurt, cheese etc... 30g cheese = 100mls of milk I think & yogurt is the same 100mls= 100mls
