E.A.S.Y or A.E.S.Y
« on: February 06, 2006, 16:37:44 pm »
At the moment my baby's schedule is as follows;
A  7am wake up
E  7.30am milk and breakfast
A  8.30am playtime
S  9-10 nap
A  10-11.30 activity
E  11.30 Lunch
S  12.30-2.30 nap
A  2.30-4/4.30 activity
E  4/4.30 tea
A  /S   4.30-6pm activity (sometimes a short catnap 5-5.30)
A  6pm bath
E  6.30pm milk
S  6.45/7pm bed

Does it matter that his eat/activitytimes are swapped around?

We do a similar routine, my dd now takes 45 minutes for some of her naps so I added a second A time and it's working fine. I think the purpose is to not have E and S together so that they do not associate needing a feed to go to sleep (with the exception of nightfeeds).

Sorry I forgot to say. He is 10 months old today!

We did have a bit of a problem with feeding to sleep but we've stopped that by ensuring we sit him up and check his nappy etc after his bottle before putting him down in his cot.

at 10 mo i would say to gauge the routine on how happy your lo is, so assuming you are breaking up the eat and sleep somehow (as you described) and he is happy with what you are doing, then i say go for it. if he was younger i was going to say to work on nap extension in the morning but at 10 mo it is normal to have shorter morning nap...your routine is very similar to what my dd2 was doing. my only suggestion woudl be to watch out that catnap at this age as you might have issues with getting him to go to bed if he is not tired enough after a catnap.
