I know I've asked before
« on: February 06, 2006, 18:33:11 pm »
Jency is taking a good 1.5-2 hour morning nap but then only sleeping for 30-45min in the afternoon!
Sometimes I can get him to go back to sleep for another 30-45min.  When he wakes up at the 30-45min time he is crying and when I pu/pd he yawns and lays his head down on me. So I know he is still tired.

Any suggestions?

This is just around about routine.  Give or take 30 min here and there.

7:30am Wake and nurse
9:00am Breakfast
9:30/10:00 Nap (depending on how long he wants to stay up)
11:30ish Up and nurse
1:00pm Lunch
2:00ish Nap
(this is where we have problems)
7:30/8:00pm bed (depending on when he wakes up from his afternoon nap) Tonight was 7:15!

Hi Adrias' First,
I hate to do this to you, but I think you may need to shorten the morning nap time a bit :(.  I know, am I crazy or what?  :o  I just know that with Taylor if I let her sleep too long in the morning then she will ALWAYS without fail take a short pm nap which is a nightmare because she is super cranky all the way to bedtime.  I would first try to cut the nap to 1.5 hours and see if the afternoon nap lengthens at all.  Try this for a few days to see if it works before you then try to even go for 1 hour 15 minutes.
I know some may not agree with this, but I have jsut come to terms that not all babies (mine beign one of them!) will not take 2 glorious 1.5-2 hour naps a day at this age, and so I would rather have a longer pm nap than a am nap.

That is just my 2 cents though!   :)  Please let us know what you decide!

Thanks.  Yesturday He took a 2 hour nap at am and I had to wake him but then he took a 1.5 hour nap at pm.  But he went down a little earlier then I would have liked so he still had to be put to bed early.
