Need help with naps
« on: February 08, 2006, 21:32:19 pm »
My son is 1 month and we are having a lot of trouble with naps. It takes a long time to get him down for naps (sometimes 45 min. or more), and he sleeps for no longer than 30-40 min. before I have to reswaddle and hold him again. By the time I get him down again, it's almost time for his next feeding. Then, after his 4 pm feeding, he's SOUND asleep on his own and will only wake up with a diaper change or a bath. Any suggestions for encouraging nap time at the times he's supposed to be sleeping?

He doesn't seem to be too tired. He's usually wide awake and happy in the crib when I go in. The only time he seems tired is when I have to wake him up for bath or feeding from his 4 pm nap. If I don't wake him up, I'm sure he'd sleep right on through until 11 or so...then he'd be up all night!!
