Is my (nearly) 3 month old ready for a 4 hour schedule?
« on: February 09, 2006, 22:02:01 pm »
Hi everyone
My DD is 12 weeks old, normally she has a bottle at 7.00am, 11.00am, 2.15pm, 5.30pm, 8.30pm and a dreamfeed around 11.30pm.  I've noticed that she can go 4 hours sometimes and eats very little at her dream feed (usually 2oz) she sleeps through till 7.00am. She very rarely sleeps longer than 45mins/1 hour during the day and isn't as hungry between feeds.  Is is time to change her to a 4 hour schedule? (e.g.7.00am, 11,00am, 2,00pm, 6.00pm, 10.30pm) or is it too early?
Thanks in advance for any help
Jenni

Hi, I don't really have an answer for you but was wondering the same thing for my 11 wk old.  Who just isn't that hungry at 3 hrs.  Only difference is mine wakes every 3-4 hrs at nite, and tho i feed her at these wakings she barely really eats.  I am currently all over the place with sleep these days but am curious to see what others reply to you.  How much does she weigh?

Hello!!  :)
If the 4 hrs works then go with it  :)  Tracy's "schedules" are guidelines for the "average" baby.  Zoe was on 4 hr at 3+ months as well.  Though make sure to read her cues as there will still be days where she is probably hungrier earlier.  HTH  :)
