Dropping the morning nap..
« on: February 10, 2006, 02:34:59 am »
Ok..  so I know I shouldn't be complaining..

But I've had a few comments off friends, that Leyla should have dropped her morning nap by now..  :(
Shes just turned 15 months yesterday..but.. shes not showing any signs of not wanting to nap, so I dont really want to try and keep her awake when she really doesnt want to be..

Routine..
7am..  Bottle of milk, then breakfast, then washed and dressed..
9am..  Nap
10.30 ish.. up from nap..
12pm.. Lunch..
1pm..  Nap
2.30-3pm ish.. Up from nap..
4pm.. Tea time
6pm..  Bath
6.30..  Bottle
7pm..  Bed  till 7am..

(plenty of playtime slotted in between!!)

Ok.. so Ive got a good thing going on here.. (after becoming a total fan of Traceys books!!)
And Im not complaining...
I guess I just want opinions from other people as to whether I should be making any attempts to lose the morning nap.. or wait for Leyla to start doing it herself..??!!

Hello, I think if she is happy with 2 naps then I would leave it for now.  She will let you know when she is ready to drop a nap.  Enjoy the 2 breaks while you can, my guess is she will want to drop one soon.  Usually they will either just quit taking the morning nap or still take the am nap but refuse the afternoon nap.  You know your child better than anyone else so I would not change a thing if I were you, every child is different and sounds like yours likes her sleep. ;)

LOL..  Yup.. loves her sleep and her food.. just like her mummy..!!!!  :D

I did feel a little uncomfortable posting this, when theres so many parents out there with nap/sleep issues..
But I couldnt really find much on 'when' to drop it!

Thanks for the reply..
And I shall remain happy with my sleep lovin' baby!!
