my mom keeps telling me to put cereal in my 6 week old babys bottle and that the outcome will be that she will sleep longer periods of time and not be so hungry  does anyone have any advice for yhis stuff

They don't actually sleep longer.  Try not to give your baby any cereal till 4 mths old.  Their digestive system is just not ready for it.  Have you tried to cluster feed at night?

no ,don't give him cereal till 4 months....baby need formula more than cereal....even he will sleep more longer ,but it's not good for your baby,so what will you choose?? good for your baby or sleep more longer??

i haven't got the book and read anything about the dream feeding so i really don't know what to do next so i guess maybe later today i will go get the book

cereal can be very constipating . here in th u.k they are totally against putting anything other than milk in a bottle , by adding cereal you are thickening the milk and at such a young age your lo can choke

Plus adding the cereal will not help them sleep longer, that's a myth.

rather than add cereal to the feed , up the oz of feeds in the day.we never added any cereal just increased the oz as he needed more and he slept through at 8wks, his last feed was 12pm
