Why is her nose orange!!??
« on: February 20, 2006, 17:37:01 pm »
I know we were feeding her too much squash/carrots/sweet potatoes, but we stopped about a month and a half ago and her nose is still orange-ish. Will it go away? Can I feed her those foods again? ???

It will go away eventually :-)

My ds's entire face was orange for a few months!!lol :-)

We never stopped feeding those foods, just reduced the amount while adding in the green's.

Yeah, same for our DD.  She's a bit orangish/yellowish around her nostrils.  There's just far more orangey veggies and fruits than there are any other color, so eliminating them for us was not an option.  We do make sure that she eats green veggies at least once every other day.  And you don't just have to stick to greens.  Remember, a rainbow is best.  So blueberries, beets, all sorts of colors are really good.

Ian's nose is so orange too - and in photos, it looks 10x more so.  I haven't found that eliminating orange foods works yet, I just hope it phases out as he gets more into solids.  Your LO looks so cute in that pic though!

My Dad thought dd had a great colour after coming back from hols in Itlay, dh is Italian so she would tan quicker than me being Irish, anyway then I mentioned all the carrotts, sweet potatoes and squash she ate  :o then of course he started to worry and said I was giving her too much. Dont worry it will go away after a while.

i was looking at photos of my dd and realised her nose was orange around the nostrils (and its not dried snot!!) so when i saw this thread i had to post!!! shes not too keen on carrots or squash though!! a friend of mine who lives in germany said that all babies turn orange in germany, apparently they are told to start them on carrots not babyrice and if they have tasted 5 or more veg by the time they turn 1 they are doing really well!!!
all LOs are cute whether they are ornage or not!! lol!!

Thank you all. Great stories!! I guess I'll just relax and maybe even give her some carrots or squash again soon. She really liked them. (Obviously...) ;)
