What to do with puree when lo won't eat it anymore
« on: February 20, 2006, 21:10:14 pm »
Well, dd has decided she doesn't want to be spoonfed anymore, and she doesn't have the dexterity to feed herself, so I am left with quite a bit of homemade baby food in the freezer.  Not wanting to throw it away, I have started making little vegetable patties.  I thicken the puree with cracker or bread crumbs, then fry it like a hamburger.  I think it looks pretty gross, but dd likes it and she can feed herself.  I was also going to try coating pasta with the some of the veg purees and giving her graham crackers to dip in the fruit purees.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I was in the same boat when Tyler went off purees. I used them as spreads on toast and sandwiches that I cut into bits. I'd also make "pizza" with them by spreading them on toast or pita bread, topping with some grated cheese, then melting under the broiler and cutting into pieces. I wish I'd thought of the veggie patties!
