Just starting solids
« on: February 21, 2006, 18:52:54 pm »
I am hoping I am doing my ds feeding correctly, I do not want to over feed him.  He has been on cereal for a month now and I have just gave him some veg for lunch.  I just want to make sure my feeding schedule is not too much.

This is what it looks like.

7am- 6oz bottle
8am - 2 Tablespoons of mixed cereal

11am - 6-7oz bottle
12pm - 1 tablespoon of carrots

3pm - 6oz bottle
5:30-6pm- 4 tablespoons of oat or Barley cereal.

7pm - 6oz bottle

11:30-12pm - Dream feed.

this is what his eating schedule looks like currently.  I know that his cereal will decrease a bit when his veg and fruit increase. I am just worried that I am doing this wrong.  Any advice or confermation would be greatly appreciated.   ::)

Well I am no pro at this but I think that his schedule looks good to me!
I am still trying to figure out the best feeding plan for my LO...she will not take much from a bottle at a time.  If I am lucky she will take 4 oz at once and she is almost 5 months now! She loves her solids though.  I have tried cutting them out for a day and it didn't help, she still doesn't drink much formula?

His feeding routine looks fine. The important thing is to keep his formula intake around 32 oz, and it looks like he's in good shape!

StephC - if your DD is having a hard time taking her bottles, you might try cutting back on her solids instead of eliminating them altogether, and keep it up for several days. It can take a few days for appetites to adjust. It can also help to give bottles before solids, if you aren't doing that already.
