cornflakes
« on: February 21, 2006, 20:49:24 pm »
my dd woke up this evening while i was having my supper (cornflakes and a cup of tea!!) she was staring longingly at my bowl so i gave her a soft cornflake, she seemed to love it so i gave her a few more, i've given her them dry as finger foods before but just wondered if anyone knows of they are ok as baby breakfast cereal, she liked them so much this evening that i thought i might try them for her breakfast, i know it seems silly to ask this after i've said i given them dry as finger food but that feels a bit different to give a whole bowl!...any clues anyone?
TIA!

I'm not sure but I give my DS them out my bowl most mornings and he seems fine  :)

Ds has had Total cereal almost every morning (except weekends - special treats then! :-)) since he was around her age.

At first, he liked it pretty mushy - so I'd put it in a bowl with milk, crush it up a little, and let it "soak" for a bit.

Now he eats it straight away!!  And that cereal is so awesome, because it has so many vitamins in it!!

I think it is great to let them try things like that (within reason).  Ian will eat almost anything I give him and I hope that continues.  DS1 is super picky and I wonder if it is because I didn't expose him enough.  Things like (healthy) cereal and crackers and such tend to be ok, I think.

i agree...dd went through a really fussy stage and would hardly eat anything so i decided to just let her try whatever i was eating (again within reasion!) this seemed to work though as she was then keen on food and knew that if felt and tasted nice so is eating well now!
thanks again for the silly cornflake reassurance!!!
