How to stop 5am 'suckle feed'?
« on: February 23, 2006, 10:19:18 am »
My lo is 11 weeks old.  Still working on getting a more stable routine.  We got out of sorts last week when we had to travel out of town for a few days. She wakes every morning at 5am like clockwork. I have tried Tracey's tip about giving her a soother because all she wants to do is suckle and falls back to sleep, but my dd HATES soothers. What now? Plus any tips on getting her back on a routine would help.  She cries and cries when I try to put her down for naps during day (I know she is tired because she is yawning.) This is my first child.

Hi

It is very common for an 11 week old to still need a feed around 5am.

I would suggest you work on getting your lo back on a routine during the day because often once the days are sorted out the nights just automatically follow on.

You could try the EASY forum or the getting back on track board for further suggestions.  I would also suggest if you don't already that you try swaddling your lo.

Good luck
Jo
